They had no record of our booking at Thai Square for 21.00hrs on Sat Jan 17th. Fortunately they were able to find us a table. The food was as good as ever, arriving promptly and with the usual Thai grace.
The boxed set lunch is excellent value and very well prepared with exceptionally fresh ingredients. Perfect for a 1 hour lunch.
My girlfriend and I ate at the Thai Square on new year's day. The meal came to about £60 for two, including cocktails. However, we went there looking for somewhere to spend some time together over a nice meal, and although the meal was gorgeous, it was hard to hear each other due to the large party (of about 15) behind us. There were a few other couples there who felt the same. We asked to be moved to the empty side of the restaurant but were told they had closed it off, for no reason.
Thai Square, reasonable food and a good location mean it is a good shout for those going out in the West End. I can't help but feel that there are many more thai restaurants that beat the food, feel and vibe.
Visited Thai Square Piccadilly on New Year's Day evening. Had the set menu with three people. Food is quite good, the table however was a bit crowded, particularly when all the main courses (to share) arrived at the same time with the rice. Otherwise service is good and the waiters are very helpful.
A good average Thai. It's not tacky despite the rampant tourist location. The staff are very friendly. Food is very tasty - but if you're looking for fine Thai, this is not the restaurant for you.
Thai Square has amazing food and the ambience is good. The only downside are that the portions are small (compared to chinese) and is a little on the expensive side of things.
Thai Square - Trafalgar Square was nice enough but nothing to rush back for. Food was fine but not spectactular, service was very friendly but slow, it took us about 15 minutes to get somebody's attention to order more drinks. There are better places to eat Thai in the area.
I suppose I must make exceptions for Christmas but Thai Square was not up to its usual standards. They claimed my booking was for 2 people when it was definitely for 3 and this meant we had restricted dining time and were stuck in a chilly corner. The food however was flavour-full and tasty. I look forward to normality returning in 2009.
