About this business

The Ashford at Sturbridge, launched in 2019, is a beautiful and quaint independent and assisted living community tucked away in the heart of Hilliard. At most communities, you either accept less than the quality care you need and deserve or you spend more than you should. The Ashford at Sturbridge is different. It was designed to strike the right balance between services & amenities and affordability & peace of mind. Which is why this community is part of the #1 rated Ashford communities but costs 15% less than the average f... read more

People there genuinely want to help residents. There was a good vibe and atmosphere when we arrived. People were around and staff was very interactive with them.

I visited this facility I didn't like the fact that The Ashford at Sturbridge only had one-bedroom and studios. It's not a retirement community. It's more of a community for people who have some problems but can still be independent. It's not exactly the kind of lifestyle or activities that we would want to be part of at this point. They don't even have stoves because they don't want people to start a fire or whatever. You're not living in an apartment like I'm looking for. The staff during the tour was fantastic. They took ... read more

This is a better community than where my loved one has been in the past; however, there is still room for improvement. It would be nice to see the staff be able to be more cognizant of putting the hearing aides in for our loved one, assistance in getting our loved one to the restroom, and communication with the family. The family's emails and calls will go unanswered and the staff won't return the requests for call backs. There is still room for improvement when it come to the follow through. There is some staff that are ver... read more

They are doing good with the medication management. They are really nice, when they offer one-on-one care. They could improve on the cleanliness of the room. We picked this community, because it looked the best and the marketing person was outstanding.

Overall it has been a good experience so far, but we do wish it was a little cleaner that has been out biggest complaint. The house keeping could use some improvement and consistency. However the staff members have been great to work with, they are very friendly and our loved one is well taken care of. We will even ask them how they are being treated and no complaints at all. We have seen a few of the meals and our loved one seems to be quite happy. They haven't participated in the activities yet but there is plenty offered ... read more

The Ashford is a really nice community and we have met a lot of the tenants and they are very friendly. We would recommend this community to other families if it fits the needs and situation of their loved ones. With the turnover rate the way it is right now with everyone, we feel that we have to be here everyday to make sure our loved one is getting our of bed, being dressed properly, hair brushed, etc.

This was a very nice community. It didn't feel as welcoming as some of the other communities we toured.

We chose The Ashford because it was very clean, everyone was super friendly, and they have a 2 year program where you pay 2 years and then Medicaid takes over. [name removed] the girl who took us around was great. They are having issues finding staff as everyone is. The staff who are there are willing to go the extra mile to make up for it. I would tell others to make sure to tell others un the beginning to be there for your loved one since they are short staffed, It takes a little while for them to get acclimated and know w... read more

I think the biggest issue right now is they are having staffing shortages. My loved one has had problems with getting her room cleaned properly, but they're trying to remedy that. They've had a Covid outbreak as well. But overall things are good. The care is good. She seems to like the food. She also seems to really like the activities. They're just having staffing issues, like everybody else right now.
