Dinner for six. Food was good but service was not as good as we expected.
I enjoyed my time here. It’s a steakhouse so prepare to spend a bit of money - but the quality of the food is great. I had the lamb chops which were AMAZING. The server noticed something floating in my drink as soon as she set it down and quickly apologized and went to make another one.
Great food!!! This was a business dinner and my clients loved it.
The service was okay. The sommelier helped us choose a perfect wine for a perfect meal but the meal was far from perfect. I ordered a medium rare filet came out well done they re-fired then the steak and the replacement came out rare plus and cold in the middle. I didn’t say any thing because my party of 6 had basically already finished their meals. My mother ordered a salmon it didn’t come out until right before my replacement steak. Wonderful knowledgeable staff. Excellent cocktails, wine list. We never felt crowded or rushed We had reservations and tho early , 4:30, it did fill. Smart on Friday and I’m sure Saturday .
To be completely honest, I will probably not dine here again. This place is very expensive for what you get. The food is good but I've had much better steak for that price point or less. The music choice in there is lousy. It's like you're in a disco while trying to have a relaxing meal. Our waiter was very nice but i did not like that he asked us if we wanted sparkling or flat water and when we asked for flat, he brought us bottled water at $7 or $8 a bottle instead of tap water - which he should've asked. Very good service. Bubbly and efficient wait staff. The kitchen messed up my medium rare 16 Oz new York and made it well done, the majority of mine was too tough to eat at that point My wife medium was a medi.rare but tasted very good for me. Caviar service wasn't bad, but not up to what I would expect from a good steakhouse.
The food was great, but the (indoor) restaurant was way too loud. No need to play some type of dance club music when I am eating my steak. They also need more servers. Jenny, our sever, was great, but she was clearly spread too thin. That resulted in miscommunications with the kitchen and thus errors in our order. But again, oysters, steak and sides were great.
BC is a great, lively location, downtown Gaslamp. We were seated al fresco 4:15 my sweetheart's birthday. No one was at restaurant yet. Took 15 minutes for drink order, water. I get service in some places slow due to Covid. (Put ur cell phones down, boys. You have a table...) Our other party arrived. We ordered appetizers buttery, flavor of aioli exploding.
