The only reason I give the restaurant 4 stars instead of 5 is the Brussel sprouts were not all that good. And I love me some brussel sprouts. The steak was cooked to perfection and suggested a wine to pair with it that was amazing. My wife had the sea bass and it was great as well. I new restaurant but it’s on our list now of go too’s when visiting the Gaslamp. Thank you.
Excellent crab cakes, but the steak was subpar. I have an onion allergy, and the staff assured me that my appetizer had no onions in it. I tasted onion, so I sent it back to the kitchen, who assured my server there were no onions. They returned the food to me and I picked through it and found multiple white onions. To make up for the mistake, the manager personally made me a new appetizer. They also gave us 2 glasses of champagne. An employee’s alteration with a passerby resulted in a beer bottle being thrown towards our table. Glass ended up everywhere.
Great food and service. Glad we tried this place. The grilled octopus was delicious.
While the menu looked like one of the more authentically unique offers in the Gas Lamp district of San Diego, I was disappointed in the execution. Food was so so. I had the short rib pappardelle which was quite underwhelming - rather simple tomato sauce without the layers of flavor one gets from even a mediocre bolognese. We shared a number of starters, all of which were frankly somewhat forgettable. At more than $100 per person, the value wasn't there.
We came here last week, had a couple of appetizers to begin with which were amazing. My girl has a halibut fish and she loved it, I had their trio special which comes with a 4oz petite filet topped off with a bordelaise sauce, two diver scallops, 3 lobster raviolis with a sage cream sauce The service was on point! Incredible wine list
Yet another amazing dinner. Thank you Route 29 for making me feel right at home. My server was very attentive and friendly. My NY Steak came out cooked to perfection. I will be back!!
I love this place! It’s definitely a nice addition to the Gaslamp Quater. The food was decadent and cooked to my specifications. The service was sublime and the drinks are to die for. I would highly recommend!
My boyfriend and I ate here on a Saturday. If you are looking for a relaxing meal and willing to spend a couple of hours it is great. Food is really fresh and they have a large wine selection. I'm vegetarian so I got the Ratatouille; the pasta tasted fresh and I really enjoyed it. My boyfriend got some seafood pasta and he said it was great too.
