I had an amazing experience at Route 29. Staff is great, friendly, and helpful. I had the NY steak; it was cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious ! A MUST TRY!
The food was ok but not wonderful. The appetizer spinach and crab dip had no flavor and it was cold and so was my hanger steak. But the short rib was very good.
The restaurant was highly recommended by a friend so I took a client for dinner on a weeknight. It was not crowded and we received excellent service. The food and the wine choices were excellent. the craft cocktails creative. My only complaint is that our table was close to the door and it was a cold night. We could hear the street noise so it wasn't as pleasant as I had hoped. Next time i will see if I can get a table close to the back. They have outdoor seating and close to all the action in the Gaslamp if that's your pref... read more
The restaurant is gorgeous. Well designed and the service is good. Although we sat at the bar on a Sunday night. But the food ...what happened... we had the tuna app that was drenched in sauces. Broccoli that was really good. The buratta app that was hard and tasted old and the lobster ravioli that was just ok. To bad. I had higher hopes for this place. Where’s the love in the kitchen?
Went here last minute at 10 at night. The lamb shank was perfectly cooked and so large I couldn't eat it all. The accompanying risotto was excellent.
Great menu, great wine list - a little pricey for the food.
NYE celebration. Food left at table but we had no silverware and had to ask. Asked for a wine list that was brought midway through cold entrees. In fairness, appetizers and desserts were fantastic, as were craft cocktails.
Great food. Great service. Try the pork belly appetizer!
Cool looking restaurant...food was average. I had the crispy halibut in a broth. Pretty flavorless. We also had the carbonara which was good but pasta was undercooked and too chewy. Had a glass of really nice Chardonnay, however room temperature...not cold. Wouldn’t waste the money.
