Maybe it was an off night, but our experience wasn't in line with reviews. For the high prices, it certainly wasn't the fine dining service that we expected. Our food came out cold, the service was no different than a lower cost restaurant. Sadly, we were there to celebrate two birthdays so pretty disappointed.

Forgot things on order. Asked for medium steak and it was pretty raw. Only saw our waitress twice. We were not advised about a new years menu until we were there and they did not seem to happy when we wanted to order off the menu. Has to pay an additional 12.00 for toffee pudding which was on the news years menu. It was way to sweet. Could not even eat it.

Business response:

Good afternoon Anita and Happy New Year! We want to sincerely apologize for not giving you the full experience that you were expecting from us. On major holidays we have set menus to help with the volume of guests we are serving. We would love to have you back to treat you to a dessert on the house. Best, The Chef's Table

Just stopped in to have some soup on a chilly evening before a movie next door. Very underwhelmed. Super pricey too. Avoid the "gumbo" for sure.

I allowed myself to sleep on it before writing this review. I want to start off by saying if you are looking for a well put together meal, that is thoughtful and delicious this is the place to go. My partner and I are in the development stage of launching a Houston Food blog. We came to The Chef's Table as a contender for an early on feature. I am one of many that really loved Peli Peli and especially the Vintage Park location, so I was really excited having a place that was so close to home, that is next level without havin... read more

Went there tonight for our 19th anniversary and probably won't ever go back. We had good experiences at the previous restaurant there Peli Peli but chefs table was decidedly eh. Had to request water refills, never asked about ordering additional drinks after the first round. son ordered a side that didn't arrive but was on the bill Carrot ginger soup was bland and fairly tasteless, i had less than half of it. Wife's Redfish had over cooked gritty thinly sliced scallops. New scallops were brought at that point wife is eating ... read more

Business response:

Hey Jeff, it’s chef Paul the creator of both pelipeli and now The Chefs Table. Man I’m so sorry we failed you in my absence. Please come back on me and let me make it right. Look forward to giving you that experience your accustomed to. Cheers

What a disappointment Walked it there Looked at the bartender Looked around and no one walked to the from to seat us. And as we didn’t want to lose any more time we left and walked for another restaurant nearby. You imagine with all the presentation outside And the fancy host desk, there would be a host…

Business response:

Sam, Chef Paul here; I’ve reviewed the cameras and agree that what you and your companion experienced was frustrating and completely unacceptable. We have taken this opportunity to speak to our staff about the importance of being attentive to every customer from the time they enter until the time they leave. Creating a welcoming and hospitable environment that customers want to return to time and time again is something that we strive for and I’m sorry we missed that mark for you this time. We’d really appreciate the chance ... read more
