Shop around - not a bad hotel by any means just straight out of the 1940's no vent fan in the bathroom, very steamy. slightly poor water pressure overall. Television had fairly poor quality, 1st gen flat screen. all analog signals. needs an update for sure. very poor signage. took me twenty min to find my room . HUGE hotel. The room was fine for a hotel of its age. much like myself , it has seen better days. Very old school traditional in operation. Very Good We did read that the room could be warm, the hallways were stuffy and the rooms were warmer than we would have liked. but we were out walking and the weather was cooler so when we got back to the rooms it did feel good in the room. It was centrally located for the things that we were doing. We were there to see Shen Yun. We walked everywhere that weekend to see as much as we could see. Very Good A bit worn around the edges, needs an update, but didn't impact my stay at all. The room I had looked inward, which was a bit depressing...but I was hardly there, as I was off exploring Chicago! Location was great, room was a good size and bed was comfortable - great value for money
Great location, period furniture and very nice staff Downstairs, it looks a bit chaotic and the entrance is unpleasant, with too many people, signs. So it is a pleasant surprise that the main hall with mosaics on the walls is beautiful and the room itself is clean and well kept. The hotel is very centrally located and we had a fantastic view onto the lake and up and down Michigan Ave. We ended up having something like a suite - with a big living room, big bathroom and spacious bedroom.
