BEST DENTIST I HAVE EVER HAD, and I've been going every 6 months since I was young. I moved from California and had a horrible string of dentists in Chicago, but then I found Magnificent Smile! I was referred by my boss who went after her pregnancy because that messes up your teeth and referred another coworker who hadn't been to the dentist in years and had a lot of dental trauma. We ALL love our dentists here.
Been going here about 2.5 years or so now and I'm very happy here. Easy to get an appointment, you don't have to wait long to be seen, and the staff is very nice. Front desk knows what they are doing with insurance which is a plus and Dr. Clause is very knowledgeable and competent despite her looking young. Get my cleanings, checkups and had invisalign done here (bottom teeth moved since my original ortho didn't do a permanent retainer).
I have been meaning to write a review about Dr. Schwarz and her excellent staff for years. She is is one of the best dentists I have ever seen, and I have experienced more than a few. I don't think too many patients can honestly describe their dentist as kind, funny, down-to-earth (I hate that word), and thorough. My boyfriend and I always joke about not wanting to tell the world about great businesses in fear of not being able to get in, but this practice truly deserves it. I have been going here for about 4.5 years, and I think they are great. It's very "family" in this office. Everyone is sweet, and easy-going - it's nice for a dentist's office - just makes you feel calm when you go in. Never had a bad experience here, and would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a good dentist.
One way to gauge the character of a person is how they handle themselves during an emergency. I had an emergency once upon a time in 2009 and Dr. Frericks was there for me. My two front teeth (yes, the FRONT) were knocked out during a bicycle accident that sent me to the emergency room. I was literally a mess, my face, black, blue and completely bruised. I was referred to Magnificent Smile yesterday morning by a coworker. After a bad first impression of an oral surgeon I saw the day earlier about an infected wisdom tooth, I felt I needed a second opinion. I called Mag Smile and they were able to squeeze me in within a couple hours. Awesome! I got in and the girls in the office were so sweet. The Magnificent Smile/Dr Wm Frericks Relocated to Chicago late 2008. A few months later I realized my semiannual teeth cleaning slipped by me, & a friend referred me to Dr Frericks at The Magnificent Smile. Standard stuff is terrific. Jaime makes appointment scheduling "painless." I had a crown placed by Dr. Shealy 2 weeks ago and I am very happy with the results. Mag Smile also has a crown milling maching in house so no waiting for an outside lab. Dr. Shealy runs a relatively conservative practice and will not push unessesary procedures. I highly recommend Dr. Shealy to anyone based on her talent, professionalism and trustworthy opinion.
Just got my teeth cleaned, one cavity, and did a teeth whitening. Dr. Shealy was great. I've been looking for a great dentist in Chicago for the last 8 years and finally found one. She's not bad looking either!
