My mom lived in memory care at The Oaks for a short period of time. Pros included many kind and loving caregivers, clean and safe accommodations, knowledgeable nurses, good food, very “pretty and put together” on the outside. Cons included the “absence” of a director, being passed off to someone else when I wanted to speak with the director, billing issues after move out, some caregivers inexperienced and/or not cut out for this type of work that takes a special calling. My mother has been a resident at The Oaks at Flower Mound for over a year and it has been a great year due to the facility, care, meals, activities and very helpful staff... but the level of care she received following her recent fall and broken hip truly exceeded all expectations. We rank The Oaks 5 out of 5 stars. High level of professionalism and friendliness throughout ALL teams. We feel very blessed to have my mom in such a well managed community. The Oaks is an extremely positive, uplifting, energetic environment. Dining, activities, medical care, housekeeping are all top notch! If anyone has to go on wait list, they should do so and be patient knowing that once an apartment becomes available it is absolutely worth the wait!
5 for all. The Oaks is really exceptional. Very professional and caring. My mother is very happy and the staff is great about both working with her and keeping me informed. The facility is always clean and in great shape.
They are super nice and friendly. Very personal like a family member relationship. And I gave the pricing a low but all care facilities are expensive
During the time my Mom was a resident, the care team was very attentive. In her last days she moved to the memory care unit and the care was not as attentive because they expected the hospice nurse to do most of the care. The administration was not great. Hard to reach, non-responsive and you had to stay after them for very simple request.
Medication is a serious issue for an elderly person. So if you need that care the no do not pick the oaks. If you don't need medication distribution then it's a nice place. We needed an a place that had an opening and close to our home.
I like that they had therapy on-site. Smaller community was also a selling point. Their marketing person [name removed]was also top notch and was quite instrumental in convincing me this would be a good spot for my Mom. She has since left.
I just started employment as a medical technician with The Oaks, and I'm so excited. I came in last week, and the 1st person I met was [name removed], the business office manager and acting ED. She's great! She was kind and professional.. The day of our onboarding, [name removed] was extremely eager to help in setting up our credentials and getting us ready for training.
