Since 1986, The Oar has been dedicated to bringing you fresh and delicious seafood. Our staff is accommodating and friendly, and their service is sharp and always pleasing to our customers. We take a lot of pride in satisfying all of our guests. The Oar offers beautiful scenery and provides a fun entertaining atmosphere. We had reservations but decided to sit and eat at the bar. Vince the bartender was very courteous and attentive with our drinks and meal to the point he deliciously modified our drinks to perfection. As always, the seafood bisque and onion soup were superb. We had ordered the short rib which was a little on the tough side and could have had a little more gravy to compliment it. Otherwise, a great place located on the water who are great hosts to locals, regulars, and first time diners
We had a great Holiday dinner here prior to a show at Patchogue Theatre. The chicken pot pie is amazing, and we loved the Bread Pudding dessert and Peanut Butter dessert.

Saturday night reservation was made earlier in the day, so that was nice. Valet parking was nice and the guys were very polite. We arrived a few minutes early and we were seated promptly. We looked over the menu along with drink/dinner specials that all looked interesting. My wife had one of their specialty martinis and I just had a regular gin martini. Both were prepared very well. The food was very tasty and good, loved the seared mussels. My wife had the salmon and cooked perfect and I had the duck and was good too. The waitress was excellent.This was my third time there.

The food was delicious, my husband and I will absolutely be back. The server was definietly busy, but it was a packed restaurant (never a bad sign). They had an amazing band playing.
