Very good food and the service was wonderful as well. Nice surprise as we had never been here before. We ordered the wedge and shrimp & avocado salad as appetizer and the halibut entree which was outstanding. Will definitely be returning when the weather gets warmer.

Second visit to the Oar and even more impressed with the quality of food, accommodating service (I love valet parking on weekends! ) and overall dining experience. Only drawback again was outdoor fire pit room - Would have loved to sit out there for after dinner drink but it hadnt been bussed in awhile so lots of empty glasses and the furniture a little dingy... but my husband and son lived their meals and wine selection - our server was also exceptionally attentive and experienced - we will be back!

Or is one of our favorite places. We love it in summer and winter. Food is very good. Wait staff is friendly and efficient, and the ambience is laid-back warm and comfortable.

Steaks were very good, potato was underdone, dessert was great. Service was good. One big issue is the menu price for the streak at the restaurant was $14 more than what the menu on open table shows. Needs to be updated.

Nice cozy dinner option for a gal pal weeknight dinner or date night. Wasn't expecting such friendly, accommodating service, interesting menu, above average execution of same (my salmon was perfectly done) and the wine and drink options - pleasantly surprised. It's not an inexpensive night out, but at least the Oar -- on this my first but not my last visit, was worth it and lived up to its reputation. I went with 2 friends at around 3:30 to the oar house, a kind of quiet time. We started out with one of their cocktails. The cocktails were muddled drinks we each had a different one. We were each very happy with them. The apps, coconut shrimp and lobster wontons were outstanding. Our “Linners” were great. Two of us had lobster rigatoni. I couldn’t finish mine.
