I was an inpatient in this facility in March 2014 for 13 days on the third floor and received, for the most part, excellent care. As I was transferred from Barnes-Jewish Hospital after kidney surgery with complications plus having a neuromuscular condition and osteoporosis, I was much in need of PT and OT. All my therapists were great but they did expect you to work hard. They were the reason I was there...too get stronger to be able to return to my former life style. My two primary therapist, Janelle a PT and Casey an OT, h... read more

The PT and OT here is second to none, however everyone from the Case Managers down to the nurse aids are horrible. Leaving patients on bedpans or leaving them unclothed out of reach of call lights for hours. Not following PT orders when tending to patient daily needs, such as transferring or toileting. Not setting up discharge properly and sending patients out to other facilities/ home without the tools they need to fully recover. I could add a whole list of issues and my list is quite lengthy. I was disappointed with the ca... read more

Oh boy were do I begin! We were at the Rehabilitation Institute in St. Peters, Mo. and I can't believe my husband is still alive after being a patient there. We had a terrible experience. They were non-attentive, didn't follow doctor's directions from Barnes Jewish down stairs, and the negligence was a plenty! Family and friends expressed great concern as they couldn't find anybody most of the time when visiting and the case manager was useless. The place was like a tomb in the afternoon and weekends. It is a wonder th... read more

I had my left leg amputated above the knee on Feb. 21, 2018 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis due to a staph infection. Then on March 6, 2018, 13 days later, I had open heart - quadruple bi-pass surgery. Now come The Rehabilitation Institute of St. Louis (TRISL) part of my life-changing story. I was transferred to TRISL on March 16th - after my insurance company rejected the claim. The doctor from TRISL called my insurance company and conducted a peer-to-peer call, explaining that I had an amputation AND open heart su... read more
