We needed more orientation as to how things actually worked, especially after my mother in law got sick with the flu and was showing some confusion. Care was not provided by the residence staff, but had to be coordinated with a local VNA. We had no idea. Then we needed help getting her to take her meds, but didnt realize we had to set all up. One med had to be crushed which the staff weren't allowed to do and my mother in law didnt have the hand strength, so we had to take care of that as well. My mother in law has time blin... read more

When faced with finding an assisted living community for my mom with very short notice, A Place for Mom considered our needs and provided referrals to appropriate communities. Knowing that they had previously vetted these communities, gave us significant peace of mind. We're very happy with the community but it is expensive. I am familiar with other facilities in RI which are less expensive and provide more services as part of the rent. I am aware of the differences between what is allowed in RI and what is allowed in MA.

Everything was absolutely perfect at Great Woods but unfortunately my mom had to step up to long term care. They were so wonderful. The facility was beautiful and clean and all the staff were great, helpful and friendly. And the food was excellent...chef prepared meals that were just wonderful! I was disappointed when my mom had to leave, l truly felt that we were very blessed!

Major complaint is the dining room. Its what my loved ones complain about almost daily. Other than that the cost of living there is outrageous. I would recommend it for peace of mind.

There is no question that private Assisted Living is not inexpensive, be between all of the hard costs (rent, utilities, insurance, upkeep), three meals, full-days of activities, and the intangibles such as folks concerned with a resident's wellbeing 24/7, a renewed social circle and peace of mind, many find there to be great value.
We were highly recommended to visit The Residence at. Great Woods for my mother. As soon as we walked in we were warmly greeted and toured the community. We met the Executive Director and the Chef. He personally met us and asked about what kind of food my mother enjoys eating. We saw spacious beautiful apartments. We bumped into many residents and the community had lots of activities to choose from. My mother moved in about a month ago and she has met new friends and absolutely loves it!!

The Residence at Great Woods is a well run and the staff are all very accommodating. The facility is pretty and has a homey atmosphere.
Highly recommend the residences at great woods. Great location, clean facility, and amazing associates that take GREAT care of my loved one. Our family couldn’t be happier. The wellness director and her team are phenomenal. If you’re looking for an assisted living facility for your loved one, I recommend you check this facility out.
From the first moment I walked into the community until I left with a warm box of cookies my visit couldn't have been better. Everyone was friendly and happy. I met a number of the staff members and folks that live there. Everyone smiled, said hello and welcomed me like family. All of my questions were answered and the place looked great and smelled good. When it is time for my mom to move this will be the place. Thank you!
