This community is really clean and the staff is really friendly. There are no odors and the house keeping staff really does a great job. The staff here seems to have a real passion for working here and what have to offer their residents. It is just an outstanding community and I would recommend to anyone.
I have a family friend who sent her elderly mother here to the memory care unit. The care was horrible. My friend came every day because she didn’t feel like the staff were looking after her mother properly. They said they would check on her x times per day- she set up cameras in her mother’s room and found none of this was true. She stayed overnight with her mom a couple times and woke up to find ALL OF THE NIGHT STAFF ASLEEP. One time her mother fell and was on the ground for 2 HOURS with no help. The memory care unit at Pearl Street does not appear to be equipped to handle people who are entering the advanced stages of Alzheimer's or dementia. They promote the fact that someone can move into their assisted living and then continue out their time in memory care if needed. However my father eloped from their memory care unit and after an extended visit to the hospital to have his medications adjusted, they decided they would not allow him to come back so we had to find another place for him to live. We have to make these determinations based on the individual circumstances, but everything comes down to the long term well-being of the individual living with us. In most cases, we are able to care for residents throughout the course of life, but in some circumstances, we have to make the difficult decision that they will be better off in a different setting. Our family was very mislead when it came to their capabilities of being able to handle our loved ones memory care. They were not able to meet the expectation's and they had no intention of being able to follow through with the promises they made us.
My mother stayed there in November of 2020 and the care promised was not provided. Her belongings were never unpacked although I was told they were all hung on her walls. Her fridge was not cleaned in 4 months of living there. I found soiled underpants in her closet and under her bed. Her soiled lines were left for weeks after she was hospitalized and worst of all when she caught COVID while hospitalized they refused to let her back into the community and forced us to move her to the only skilled nursing center near by. Placing 2 Seniors in a one bedroom space account their financial situation is not kindness, its maximizing profit. [Name removed] you should be ashamed! After bleeding people of their life savings then casting them aside is just wrong. This will be blogged across the internet for the public to decide. - This is a heartless assisted living facility.
Not a great place. A lot of turn over the with staff. None of them seem to be happy, seems like the staff doesn't want to be there. There are so many better places to put your parents in.
Any positive review is done by LCB, this place is so cold to the residents. Management and all the help from Longwood Place is gone is less than a year. Do not bring your parents here. There are so many places that are more caring. This company is in it just for the money. STAY AWAY
