I'm 74, have lived in Larkspur since the early 1990's, raised my now spread out Family, married to a licensed now High Risk Ob/Gyn RN, and am a semi-retired attorney who has specialized in Injury Related and Medical Negligence litigation. A Truly Exceptional Community -- The Vincent, San Rafael My dad has been living at The Vincent since March 2024, and the experience has grown into something truly exceptional. On the positive side, the building itself is well-designed, cheerful and attractive; and the plants and trees in the courtyard are beautiful. The sales people are warm and friendly, as are some of the staff. The food is decent, sometimes excellent. However there are huge issues with turnover. They are on their seventh executive director in three years, and their fourth activity director. I have a relative that moved to assisted living at The Vincent. It is new and clean but the daily care has continued to decline. Most importantly, medication management or lack thereof, has gotten worse. The Vincent is owned by Gallaher Senior Living, a development company in Santa Rosa, Bill Gallaher is well known in the area. Initially, they hired Oakmont to manage the facility. If you want your loved one to be in a community that provides excellent care that is safe and stimulating, I strongly encourage you to continue to look and NOT to place your family member in The Vincent. BEWARE!! Avoid this beautiful looking home... While the staff members are very nice, the management of the facility is understaffed and they are missing processes to take care of their clients. The day before we moved my mother into the facility, I stopped by to meet the executive director for the Vincent, and asked if their staff is ready for my mom. I also asked her to maybe check in a few times more often at night during my mom's first week and she said "no problem". The next day we moved my mom in and the person at ... read more
