I had a mortgage adviser that was so kind and thorough, that I had to write a review. The experience that I had with Todd Schwartz through Bridgeview Bank was life changing. He was so patient with all my questions, and I had a lot of questions. He was extremely detail oriented that I never felt lost in our discussions. Process was a little choppy, I submitted documents but either wasn't uploaded or misplaced and had to do a few times; little frustrating. If it's off my plate others have to finish it. I don't like repeating things when I believe should be complete. I would say Todd was responsive and always available, just didn't like process and repeating steps done already.

To communicate with one person. I was confused from the start with messages from four different people. I did not know who they were and thought most of it was just more soliciting. Also got different instructions from some and then it was blamed on me for stalling the process or getting yelled at for calling when I was told to call. Thankful it's over.

i would have to follow up several times in order to get a response on some questions. There were other people involved with the transaction but there was never communication about their role and when i should contact which person.

The experience would have been better if I didn't need to micromanage all of the logistics to make the closing happen. The process/cash to close amount was not communicated properly. Frankly, I should have scrapped the process with Mutual of Omaha when things started to go haywire. Chase, my previous lender, claims that they could have gotten me an even lower rate (2.73%). A couple of friends asked me recently about my refi experience. Needless to say, I did not recommend MoO.

A problem with one of the final figures that wasn’t shown to me in my final paperwork. It’s fine but should have been notified of the change before notary arrived.
