If there were an MVP award for the home buying process, our lender would win it hands down! From the very beginning of pre-approval all the way to closing, they absolutely knocked it out of the park.
Brendan gave an option of an ARM option with a 5.75 % for 7 years then offered me a 5.35% if I change it from 7 to 5 years. I took he lower rate. I locked in the rate. The. he became unresponsive and only replied with “we are working on it. Made mistakes on loan estimates and kept changing closing dates. Then he change my 1% discount to a 2% if I wanted to keep a 5.35 % rate. after a month and a half, i accrued mortage penalty because even With a locked in rate they said they couldnt offer that rate anymore. Be careful with Rate and the loan process and servicing are completely different levels of professionalism. Our loan process was super easy, smooth, fast, and on time. All done electronically up to closing. The nightmares began with servicing. Rate's serving is horrendous. Hard to get straight answers and they lie constantly. I had to file a CFPB complaint to finally get them to talk to me. I would never use them again. They cost me thousands of dollars in interest on thier delays processing my recast.
I'm sorry to report that Donna Lewis proved untrustworthy. She withheld pertinent information during the sale process, and when that information was disclosed by an unaffiliated party, she did not take personal responsibility, engaged in double-speak, and tried to drop me as a borrower. All parties involved--seller, buyer, and both real estate agents--were shocked and dismayed by her unethical behavior. We used this company on recommendation from our realtor, but from the start they did not seem to listen to us and seemed to have very poor internal communication. We were asked several times for the same information and when asked to explain certain information, what was provided was told by one source to be enough, and was then asked for again by another, adding a great amount of stress to our home buying process.
