Dr. Susan Parry & Dr. Aysha Taff have just opened TORO PARK ANIMAL HOSPITAL. They are located in the same building as the recently closed Portola Animal Hospital. Currently remodeling, they feature all new equipment including digital Xrays. They also offer medically supervised boarding for your cats & dogs, including a dog exercise yard.

I am very unimpressed with Toro Park Animal Hospital. I brought my little dog in believing she would be cared for. This animal hospital is strictly about profit they quoted me an insane amount in the thousands of dollars for care. Teeth cleaning, nails trimming and one tooth removed. Thank God I found another Vet who came to our home and treated my dog. He cleaned her teeth using a mild sedative and the tooth was also extracted. I called to set up a new patient appointment for my dog. After being placed on hold for several minutes, I reached the point of booking a same-day time slot. I asked if I could have a moment to confirm I'd have my car back in time for the appointment, and the call was disconnected. When I called back less than a minute later, I was told they were fully booked and couldn't see us for several days. The receptionist's tone was very dismissive and "oh well" about the situation, which made the experience even more frustrating.

They charged almost $2,000 to pull a tooth out. Not to fix it, just to pull it out. Also, the guy at the front desk does not know how to secure your personal information. I provided my credit card number to him three times, yet somehow they still do not have my correct information on file. Go somewhere else, there are tons of excellent vet offices in Monterey County.

They dropped my cat's hard carrier on her when taking her out. My cat got scared and fell off the metal exam table. Making her even more scared. I should've left then but trusted they knew what they were doing. They tried to put a muzzle on her after that. My cat was even more scared and cried and screamed. The vet said she was aggressive and had to be sedated. I couldn't believe they escalated it like this. Super expensive. But you do not get what you pay extra for. They do not return phone calls. They gave mixed info and my dog had a litter--wait till first bleed on female and wait so male is 14 months for better bone strength. They will charge you a monthly fee regardless if you want to still go to them or not. Good luck getting them to call you back. Check around for cheaper cost for getting dogs fixed.

They charged $90 to trim my dog's nails and clean her ears. Rediculously expensive! They add a $20 technician fee and a $15 hazardous waste fee....for nails and cleaning ears?!?! What a joke. They overcharge to take advantage. They don't show you the price beforehand. They have you sign for services beforehand, but don't quote the price. Then, when it's done, gotchya billing at its best! Then, to top it off, they say, "Oh yeah, we will get your pets record from her other vet." They then said, "Your dog needs her rabies vacc... read more

In an effort to assist someone who could not afford treatment, I reached out to this vet to set up an appointment. I was told by Dani that I needed to pay a deposit over the phone in order to get an appointment. I have never heard of this. I feel that her response shows that the company's mission is to not help people and pets in need but to make money and weed out the undesirable clients. Very inhumane.

I would give this vetrinarian a score of zero if it was possible. DO NOT TAKE YOUR ANIMAL TO THIS VET. We have had recurring problems with them, including unauthorized charges to our credit card, massive rescheduling problems, delays to treatment that have put our animals at risk, lying to us about work completed and then not being able to present the work, unsanitary conditions and treatment or our dog resulting in leaving him in feces and water in his kennel that caused a massive skin infection while boarding, overcharging... read more
