The quality of the doctor is fine. Twice I have been there and twice the front of the desk has not be upfront with me about pricing. They told me to bring my dog back for a follow up exam and then charged me for it. After the second visit, they gave me medication, Genny came out and explain all the medications to me. She then told me I was good to go. So I left. I had been siting up at the front desk for 5-10 minutes before she came out and no one said anything to me. After Genny told me I was good to go I left. I g... read more

Extremely over priced! Second time I've walked out with my animal. The first time was because their groomer wanted to charge $20 to do my dog's ears. She wanted $80 to groom my dog. My normal groomer included the ears in the $50 price. Today, with an appointment already made for boosters only, I was informed that they could only administer boosters if I paid for an annual exam first, AND, I would have to come back for it at a later time. I had confirmed by email that I could get boosters without an office visit. For ev... read more

We apologize that you feel we are overpriced. It is our policy to complete a full physical exam annually for all vaccines. This exam is as important, if not more so than vaccines, to confirm your dog is healthy. The estimate you were given included all best recommendations for your pet's health - these were not required, but optional. Our job as your pet's health advocate is to recommend what's best for your pet, and our clients must decide what they would like to do. We apologize for the miscommunication between our staff a... read more
You NEVER gave me another option, your assistant stared at me when I said I could not afford over $500 of treatment, just stood there and stared! I had to excuse myself, with tears in my eyes, and call a friend who advised me what to do! You, the veterinarian, never came around again once I denied your $500 + services. And then you notify the county of neglect!! Why would I take my cat to the vet in the first place if I was neglecting him?
Business response:
I am so sorry you do not feel that you received the best care from us. We try to meet our client's and patient's needs at every visit. We actually did offer a lesser treatment, which is what you decided to do for your cat. Our legal obligation is to ensure the welfare and care of pets. All veterinarians take an oath to ensure that all pets are protected and well cared for. Once we start a client/patient relationship we are legally bound to make sure patients are cared for. It is not important if that service is done at our... read more
I was dismayed when I learned that Dr. Kaplan and Dr. Rockwood had suddenly bought the hospital. I trusted them when Dr. Susan Perry was over seeing their work, but not alone. The rreceptionists I knew are gone too. I was told that my cat would die of kidney failure without expensive hospitalization. I took him elsewhere and they taught me to give fluids under the skin. He is doiung great now.
Thank you for taking the time to respond to my review. I understand that mistakes happen, and based on your reply, I can tell you care greatly about the experience of clients and pets. While we can both agree that the first incident was due to a coding error, it was the second incident that I still contest. I was never told that my dog would need a follow-up visit. I took it upon myself to contact your office to ask about a follow-up and any fees associated with that visit. It seems to me that if I had never called in, ther... read more

On your first visit there was simply a mistaken entry. We offer a specially priced pain control package for the animals that we spay or neuter for the City of Salinas Shelter. Your pain drugs were entered under the wrong code. I am glad you caught that error. I am as frustrated as you are about our medication costs but unfortunately medications are expensive. On your second visit it appears that the doctor did want to recheck your dog's ears but didn't make that clear. Please accept my apology; our goal is that every c... read more
A few months ago I had to take my dog in. I called to see what the office visit cost. Was quoted a certain amount, I think about $45 then after going there they charged me $59 for office visit even after I told her what I was quoted on phone. She said that was there old pricing from a couple months back. Hmmmm, it was just yesterday when girl had quoted me this when I made appt. Also thought we would be seeing Dr. Perry or Taft, but when we got there it was someone else. Was dissappointed since my dog is hard to handle an... read more

I am sorry that the doctor you saw was not able to understand what you wanted. Dr. Taff has been out on maternity leave. Please call our office, we may be able to help with that bad breath! Sometimes the smell is from a dog's stomach or diet. 831-484-9744 or info@toroparkvet.com
