I understand it’s holiday time, but we had family in from out of town and we made our reservation in advance. Our table wasn’t ready. We were sent upstairs to a very far corner and then ignored for quite some time. Our table wasn’t even set up and drinks weren’t even offered to fill the time. Again, I forgive a lot for the Holidays and the excellent food but it’s hard when you’re trying to impress family from far away about a wonderful NY restaurant and you spent all of the evening there waiting for service.
i've been a patron of trattoria for many years (I worked at 1755 broadway in the 90's) and was taken back by the prices this time around...i was shocked that there was a $9.00 charge for bread...additionally, i have ordered spinach as a side dish many times and on this occasion, the waiter said that it's $24.00 and that we should order two more vegetables, which we did..the spinach came out cold and when i sent it back, it remained cold upon the second presentation,,,i am unsure now whether i will return to what once was, on... read more
Ceasar Salad was tasty. Pizza is thin crust with good quality cheese and sauce. Main level seating was noisy and over-crowded and tables much too close together... a covid nightmare. Upstairs seating on the mezzanine was slightly quieter, but the ceiling is ridiculously low and only comfortable (and safe) for very short people. We were seated in a very tight corner on the mezzanine and waitstaff and people coming and going jostled our table every time they went by. Think of the Marx brothers jammed in the crowded ship's cabi... read more
This is our favorite NYC restaurant. We’ve made friends with the staff over these past 20+ years. Amazing food, energetic crowd, the staff (especially John and Victor ) aim to please. Don’t miss this Italian restaurant and the antipasto is a sure first course or appetizer.
Excellent food and service! It was a perfect place to celebrate my wife's birthday.
When in NYC one of the best Italian food in the city. The food is amazing BUT the SERVICE and attention to us was bar none the best. You have to have the canolli is the best I've ever had. Thank you so much.
The food was great, our server Mitch was helpful and courteous. We came for my wife’s birthday.
We were able to get in a half hour sooner than our reservation which was wonderful. The atmosphere was calm and warmly lit, the food was delicious and the service was wonderful! We love art, so the art on the walls was welcoming and enjoyable.
We were seated on the second floor where the ceilings were very low. Our entrees came before the appetizers which we later canceled. Food was good but overshadowed by the missed appetizers and second floor ceiling. Our waiter was very nice.
