Never disappoints for favorable Italian food. Place could use some updating.
From the reception to the farewell it’s always a treat. Fabulous ambience , comfortable seating and just the right noise level makes it my favorite spot both for special occasions and when I just want to have an excellent meal. The Anti-pasta bar is as fresh as it comes and their veal chop parmesan is the best I’ve tasted anywhere!! It remains my number one New York City restaurant recommendation to friends coming into town!
Everything was great except for one detail — and this pertains to most NYC restaurants in theatre district or near Lincoln Center / Carnegie Hall: those deuce tables are just too close together! I was actually closer to the woman at the next table than I was to my own husband across our table. It’s impossible not to hear others’ conversations or to not be overheard. This was always too close, but us especially so now during Covid. That, our waiter Gianni was outstanding. Also our busman, didn’t get his name.
Wow, I can not rave about this restaurant enough in this review! The food, service, wine, spirits, and atmosphere was out of this world! Our server Sage was very professional and provided amazing service to the whole table. We will definitely be back when we are in New York next and will be requesting Sage.
The freshly baked cookies that they bring around after the meal is a nice touch. All is great, but prices are high. A small side bowl of spaghetti was $18!
As all my visits, we were welcomed with smiles and grace. The food is tasty and the wait staff, and all in the dining room, are professional and well informed. It’s a treat to visit the restaurant. I look forward to dinners at Trattoria Dell’Arte every time I’m in the City.
Loved everything! Very relaxing and authentic cuisine.
Great food Great waitstaff Great pre-theater service Very crowded and noisy
Eddie our waiter was outstanding!
