We ate at Trattoria dell'Arte before a concert at Carnegie Hall. When I made the reservation I noted that we had a 7 PM deadline and the staff made sure we made it, even though we had arrived late (thank you, New York traffic). The menu has lots of choices -- my girlfriend had the diver scallops and I had the "101 layer" lasagne. Both excellent. The lasagne was a portion large enough to feed a small army. Or me. One of the absolute best restaurants in Manhattan from service to food and wine - never ever a disappointment.
My moms birthday was on Saturday. None of us wanted dessert but they brought her a piece of their lemon cake with a sparkler and they sang Happy Birthday. Of course we all had a taste anyway and it was great. My mom was thrilled. The food came out so fast and it made us feel a little rushed but it was theater time so I know they were trying to get people in and out to make their play. It was a great experience.
There four in our group the other night (a Saturday). The restaurant was extremely energetic and busy, but our waiter was very attentive and did a great job describing the food for us. The offerings were interesting twists on classic Italian dishes, and clearly prepared with care and from scratch. The roasted vegetables available to share as appetizers were excellent. The waiter was terrific and got everyone’s complicated orders.
We were seated within minutes of our reservation. Our server was very knowledgeable and made suggestions to one of our group that has dairy product issues. She was very attentive and made a fun evening great!!! The food and atmosphere are great and will definitely return!!
Brunch - I had the chicken pepperoni parmigiana, it was delicious and the portion tremendous. The kids got a cheese pizza which was soooo good I had to order another pie because it was gone in minutes. They are both picky eaters! Great location, we took a walk to 5th ave afterwards to burn some calories ;)
I appreciate that they offered vegan, vegetarian & GF options! The antipasto was delicious.
I never miss coming to this fantastic restaurant on my NYC trips!
