The service was great. The food was absolutely outstanding. Our server helped us pick out the dish and even recommended a complimenting wine that was fantastic.
As a pre-theatre dinner option, this is great. Service was very efficient and the food came extremely quickly. There was also a very good wine selection.
We've been to this restaurant over a long stretch of years and used to enjoy the food. But the last two times we've found the dishes very heavy and salty. The 100-layer lasagne is too rich and overwhelming in size and taste. I ate one-quarter of the dish and left the rest untouched. We go there before an event at Carnegie Hall, but with so much heavy food, all we want to do afterward is go home to sleep it off.
As always, a delicious and entertaining meal at Trattoria Dell'arte. Creative entrees, great service and a spirited ambiance. Thanks for another stimulating eve!
The staff is lovely and made us feel at home; they were especially solicitous of a friend who arrived early. We had a very good meal before attending a concert across the street at Carnegie Hall. It was a pleasure.
I came to this restaurant because of the positive reviews. I really didn't see it as anything special. Dinner was pasta with seafood. The portion was on the small side but the food was good. The dessert was actually bigger than my dinner! The value is sketchy. One glass of wine, small entree, dessert and coffee was $65.00 (without tip!). The restaurant is large and every table was full. Even though they had a full house, the service did not suffer. It was noisy so keep that in mind. I enjoy Italian food every once in a while... read more
A reasonable diner in an excellent place before o after a Carnegie Hall concert
The waitress recommended the house speciality, which is lasagna. It wasn't very good and was only lukewarm. The ambiance is nice: kind of old-fashioned.
Food used to be much better....not sure I will make it there on my next visit to NYC. I'll look for something new.
