This restaurant, right across the street from Carnegie Hall, always has a robust business. The food is excellent. The hosts are amazing. Our server was good. But it seemed way too crowded for the available space. I know, as a veteran New York City diner, that one often has to sit in very close proximity to others, but this place seemed extra crowded -- particularly with all of the winter coats for which there appeared to be no way to check (maybe I missed it but there were winter coats hanging off of virtually everyone's cha... read more
Absolutely lovely experience from top to bottom. Great food, attentive staff and lovely ambiance. A must do if you are in the Carnegie area.
repeat visit. food is outstanding. service was lacking this time which is very unusual.
One of my favorites has lost its way. The service was wonderful but the food was mediocre.
D'Lish The Pizza is a thin crust lovers dream The Chicken Par with peperoni will blow you away and of course the Anti Pasto is second to none! Boom!
The food was good, not superb. But the waiter was spaced out, walked away several times before waiting for our order, seemed entirely disinterested. The bus boys were grabbing plates off the table so fast we thought there was another group of diners standing behind us. The noise in the main area of the restaurant was too much. Would have been better to sit in one of the alcoves.
Nice place, overall nice experience. Portions a tad small, but the food and service was very good. Odd thing is they brought bread out, very nice sour dough but nothing with it, no oil for dunking or butter. The Maitre d' was very personable but seemed easily distracted as he twice had to ask about our reservation.
Love, Love, Love this restaurant! I have been eating at Trattoria Dell'Arte since moving into the neighborhood nearly 14 years ago. It never, ever disappoints. The wait staff is fabulous and the hosts always make you feel special. We never miss an opportunity to introduce our out of town friends to this amazing spot and this most recent time, our three friends visiting from Southern California were as impressed as everyone else we have introduced to this restaurant. Marco waited on us and he was delightful. I requested a tab... read more
Trattoria is my favorite restaurant in NY. The food is fantastic - great portions, high quality meats (veal milanese or veal parmesan the size of a bathmat), terrific for vegetarians (try the portobello mushroom parmesan), diverse wine list, and healthy pour of a cocktail. From the management team to the wait staff - everyone at Trattoria makes you feel like a regular. Which is why you BECOME a regular!
