There's always energy and style on exhibit here. And the food is consistently delicious and free of pretension. If you're eating light, share an ultra thin pizza after your soup. If you've got the appetite, attack the veal.
Excellent meal on a very busy night. Restaurant ran smoothly and you didn't feel rushed. Noise lkevel was LOUD but it was a function of how crowded it was.

Great food and a wonderful vibrant setting. Downstairs in main dining area was loud. Thank god we were upstairs in a peaceful setting. We would definitdely recommend.
A New York favorite for many years. Never disappoints. The menu has changed a bit since my last visit, however, the quality and creativity remain outstanding.
Trattoria doesn't disappoint. I frequent this restaurant and it is consistently wonderful. The food is good and the staff is very attentive. They're very good, too, at honoring reservations. Make a reservation, and they've got your table ready for you. Very nice feature.
Very friendly. The manager greeted us as though we had been coming there for years. Jeff was our waitperson and funny and attentive. Other waitstaff came by to ask how we were doing and joking with Jeff. The food came quickly and was excellent. Will go back many times in the future.
First time there and will be back! Everything was first class. The best service I've had in such a busy Manhattan place.
