We love Truesdell! My husband and I started coming when we moved to Madison around 1.5 years ago with our beagle Mia. She had a urinary tract infection that wouldn't seem to go away and we eventually discovered she had transitional cell carcinoma, a type of bladder cancer. Since Mia needed oncology care we ended up at the UW Vet School hospital (also an excellent facility!) but Truesdell received reports from the UW and kept up Mia's case. Been working with them since 96. Had great rapport with Dr Tom and a few years later, Dr Heidi joined the clinic. We have been seeing her since she joined and she is our "go to" person when it comes to any diagnostic work although we have moved about an hour away and use the local vet for shots and minor work.

The staff has been great with my 2 kittens . They are very upfront about cost and also accept CareCredit which is a great option for making payments.
We have been clients for at least the past 8 or 9 years. We have never taken a dog or cat in (as we don't own any), but we have taken in hamsters, reptiles, and large exotic birds. All I can say, is they know their stuff, they're compassionate and caring. Price wise, considering we take in exotic animals, is the best we've found so far. This review is long overdue. I think I caught Dr Tom when he was practically fresh out of vet school (3 dogs ago for me). I stayed with him for 24 years watching his business grow to what it is today until I moved to Chicago for work. I have been to 4 different vets since moving to Chicago and have yet to find one half as good as he was! I have even consulted him via email since moving here (no charge: )). Everyone here is very nice. You can really tell they all absolutely love animals. I called and they got my cat in the next day. They couldn't get a urine sample, so they gave me another appointment the next day for no charge. The facility is clean and up to date. I'm coming here from now on!
I had a horrible experience at another vet office and decided, on the recommendation of a work colleague, to go to Truesdell instead. I'm thrilled to have found a place so close to home that we LOVE and am so thankful that my dog has Dr. Meier as his vet. We've seen both other Drs when she was gone and they are both excellent as well. I know it's more expensive than some others but I like the fact that it is a full hospital so that if something major happened my dog would not have to go anywhere else. stay away terrible vets will can give wrong diagnosis's and never be able talk to or respond to message. VCA emergency vet is even worse

Wow, what can I say ... I never write a review but their service was so outrageously bad I feel the need to warn others. We've been taking our pets to Truesdell for over 12 years. Our cat has a significant issue around its eyes and was told that the earliest they could see him was a week from now! Hell, the cat will probably be blind by then.
