Excellent overall dining experience. Service outstanding as well as the food. our waiter was excellent and the entire staff was attentive but not intrusive. A most enjoyable experience overall. Will be back in the near future for sure.
Food is excellent. Tremendous wine list. We have been served by Alex a few times and he makes the evening more enjoyable
We brought a Chinese colleague for a special meal for 3 of us. Went early to have a quieter evening. It did get noisier near the end of our 2 hours, but the other conversation never overwhelmed and we were grateful that the music didn't intrude or get cranked up as in so many restaurants. We had a surprise visit by a friend from Argentina and wanted to have a special meal. Coming here exceeded all expectations.
This is the only up-scale restaurant that I have ever been in that served nothing with the entrée. A few potatoes or vegs would have been appreciated. The server was very good about making something the way I wanted to have it, since everything on the menu had some ingredient that I was either allergic to or did not like. The other three diners were all very pleased with their meals.
I cannot believe this is a 4 star restaurant. The service was good and the food was alright,but the tuna tartar wasn't fresh. The file was much better at Morton's. They tried to be innovative but we think Mesh is much better than Vida. My husband and I have eaten at many 4 star restaurants in Chicago and Vida would not stand a chance there. Glad we tried it, but we won't go back.
Vida is great. The services is wonderful, and we really enjoyed the tasting menu. It is a bit pricey, but well worth it. It is a great special occasion spot.
I'm not one for fancy restaurants with carefully arranged plates and small portions but my wife is. So I took one for the team and made a reservation for her birthday. I was very impressed with the décor and ambiance of the restaurant. The seats were comfortable, the tables were spaced appropriately, and the noise level was calm to moderate.
