From our first inquiry phone call until final placement of our Mom, we had wonderful, caring support from the knowledgeable staff at Villa Capri. They accommodated our schedule for visitation and move-in. We had a meal in the family dining room on the day of move-in that was very good, excellent service and beautiful table settings. I am very pleased overall with Villa Capri. We've had a couple of small slip ups that are to be expected at a new facility. They have a lot of activities here. It's not even a problem but we have had an issue with a pain med order. He has a medication that is to be given as needed. We have asked the staff to ask him how he is doing and see if he needs it. My mother was moved into Villa Capri and a day later we were called about Mom being unresponsive. They were concerned enough that Mom was taken to the hospital. We found that she had a UTI. We should have had a reassessment within two weeks of moving in, but it took over three weeks and two different drugs to get Mom over her infection so they delayed the assessment. I find that action to be commendable since their initial view of Mom was minimal needs that soon escalated. They love Mom but are concerned about her depression... read more

The staff was great in helping my dad settle in . It was a difficult time and they made the transition easy. There were many questions and they were prompt in answering them and returning calls.

Villa Capri is a very nice facility. We feel that my loved one is receiving good care there. They have not been good at helping us navigate his emotional response to being there, such as how to answer his questions about why he is there and when can he go home. That said, it's a beautiful, clean facility. The cost is very very high and not easy for my family, but we want him to have good care. I just wish there was more support for the families.

Jury still out on change of ownership. I understand transition takes time. Most personnel from previous ownership, from managers to care givers have left or were let go. Many of the resident concerns are being listed to re; laundry, food quality and food variety, activities, HOWEVER very little action seems to be taking place.

Do your research before having your loved one live at Villa Capri at Varenna. Owned by [removed] and recently Well Quest took over the management of this facility. It's obvious that [name removed] hired Well Quest to cut costs and operate Villa Capri as a budget community, however the costs for residents are high and will increase. Ongoing problems with the staff responding in a timely manner to the resident's call for assistance. Food is not good, residents give feedback month after month with no change.
