Admin staff (particularly for Nursing) was difficult to get a hold of, sometimes nonresponsive. Admin was in a period of changeover, which was a good thing. Food was average, Dad saying that it seemed like foodservice quality. Facility was clean and activities were enjoyable.

It was a difficult transition when my parent reached a point where living alone was no longer an option. Walnut Creek provides a level of independence that allows one not to feel “kept”. Numerous activities provide something for almost any interest. And for those, like my parent that had a little fur friend accommodations with access to the court allowed for exercise and play time with other little friends. Facility is very appealing and clean. New furniture, flooring. Looks like a new facility. My mother says some of the care staff are "a lot nicer when loved ones are around" but they typically do their job. Not much assistance with bathing but that may vary with resident. There are often long waits for the food and then it is often not hot. She says it is spicy. Not very senior friendly. Very nice and helpful staff. Very professional and provide great care to their residents. The food if often late by 30 minutes to an hour.

I already had a place selected and made a deposit. That changed when I visited i was blown away. Very impressed with their responsiveness and care. Almost all of the other places had a complete lack of diversity. Walnut Creek provided diversity both in residence and staff.

We absolutely loved Walnut Creek, all of the staff members were so friendly and extremely attentive. However when they had that flash flood the entire community flooded and our loved one had to move.
