Anniversary trip to Solvang. Tried Whiskey and Rye… did not have high expectations going to restaurant due to touristy nature. Service was attentive but not friendly. Food was mediocre. BBQ tasted and had texture of leftovers and was luke warm. Dickies does a better job in my opinion. Whisky tasting over-rated… got charged the same amount for younger versions of what they had listed in flight. Mentioned we had an anniversary when I made the reservation but not special attention.

The staff was great. Had the combo plate. Ribs were almost perfect, the brisket was dry and the pulled pork was mushy, well over cooked

Unfortunately the food was horrible! The meat was fatty and the waffle fries were hard ad a rock. Disappointed that my wife paid so much for my 51st birthday after driving 2 hours and 45 mins to dinner. Had to throw the leftovers out when we got home.

Something is seriously off the rails when a $22 bowl of GF brisket chili (which contained a whisper of brisket) was accompanied by cornbread which wasn’t gluten-free. I was tempted to order the GF ribs but $32 for six bones and two pedestrian sides was simply ridiculous. The staff was pleasant and trying their best but the enterprise’s attention to details is lacking.
