We have lived here for 18 years and been regular patrons of 54th street. We came here tonight to celebrate my child’s birthday (her request). We had 8 in our party and arrived at 840 pm. There was no one in front of us on the list and MANY tables open (over 50%). We were told they would not seat us for about 20 minutes because they sent servers home (which is fine) but 45 minutes later and about 7 additional separate parties of 2-6 people per party being immediately seated, I questioned them again why we weren’t being seated... read more

Where to begin....we arrived at 3:20 on a Wednesday and both ordered off the happy hour menu. The waitress arrived quickly and took our drink orders. She returned quickly with our water and took our order in a timely fashion. There were less than 20 diners in the entire restaurant, but it took quite awhile to receive our drinks from the bar. Quiet possibly one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had here. The staff was rude and clearly could never figure out that we had a child in our party, even though the girls up front were able to stand around chatting the entire time we waited. Once we were able to get seated we were informed that we would have to be split up due to them not realizing we had a child with us? They were made aware of this when we came in…. Worst service we have ever had in this place. John, who was bartending in the outside bar area, is the worst server/bartender we have ever had in any restaurant. We will never come back because of him.
