I've rented at least one storage unit here for about two to three years now, and at times had a second storage unit as well. The staff has always been very kind and courteous each time I have been there. The last time, I brought a rental truck that appeared that the last renter had backed into a concrete structure with as I dumped all kinds of rubble onto the ground when I pulled the loading ramp out. Amazing customer service. The employees there are a wonderful help and their prices are great. Out of the several storage places in the area I've hit up they are my favorite. I highly recommend them.
I have been storing/renting at this location since Jan. 2014. Up to July, I was happy with my experience. In July I had to move into a smaller unit. I signed a contract for a 5x10 unit, but when I started to physically move my stuff into said unit, I realized it was actually a 5x8 and 4 inches; it was ACTUALLY MEASURED at 5x8 and 4 inches. When I questioned this I was told that according to their records the unit is listed as a 5x10, so the FACT that is it WAS NOT the 5x10 I signed a contract for was a non-issue for them. After searching and comparing many storage facility options in Oceanside when I phoned A1 I had the pleasure in speaking with Tracey in the 3040 Oceanside Blvd. location. I wish I could give half a star because I would. I rented a unit while my husband was deployed because I was pregnant, very sick and moved home to have surgery. When I returned 6 months later everything was fine until I started moving stuff out. My friends had gotten one load done and had one left. When we got back there was a different lock on the unit and my stuff was gone. I immediately went to the office and demanded to know where my stuff was. I would recommend this location to anyone and everyone. I can't imagine ever worrying about the security of my belongings at this location. I have rented a large unit here since July, 2011. Not only were the premises immaculately clean but the staff (Jim and Tracy in particular) went above and beyond to help me with anything I needed. I had my stuff stored here for a month, but I would choose this place again. I had planned on storing at their Vista location which is a few miles away, but they sort of messed up my reservation for a space that was about 10x6. I was moving from L.A. that day so I was upset. I had reserved it under a special that would have cost me about $50. They offered me similar spaces for $180!! Big price differrence. The bottom line is, when you rent a storage space, you expect your stuff to still be there when you return from seven months in Afghanistan. The other stuff - friendly service, clean space, etc. - is icing on the cake. When your stuff isn't there, then the other stuff doesn't matter. I returned to find a lock that wasn't the one I left on my storage unit. A-1 cut the lock, and when they opened the door to my rented unit, I saw that most of my stuff was missing.
