I've had better gumbo elsewhere. Overrated. Overpriced.

I really enjoyed the oysters, which was the best dish (chargrilled). Gombo and Jumbalaya, not great. Fried shrimp and fish were not out of the ordinary, with lots of French fries filling up the plate. Ambiance? I'll give it a 4.5!

While in NOLA for my bachelor party, we stopped by this place because one of my groomsmen saw it on the Food Network. Unfortunately, the fame and long lines have eroded what was supposedly something special. Aside from the oysters (which were some of the best we'd had) the food was mediocre at best and our server seemed to not want to be there at all. While she was nice, she abandoned our table for long stretches, never offered refills and it ultimately took about 20 minutes to get our check after our table was cleared. The... read more

First and last time yesterday that I went.. Customer services was awful and the food was even worse... Bread was falling apart.. The shrimp and fish tasted like it was fried in ole grease.. Bad experience all together..

I can only give this restaurant a two because of the extremely rude service we experienced. Let's just say their management is more concerned about turning tables around quickly instead of customers having a good experience. That's not very southern or indicative of New Orleans! Our server did apologize for the manager, but there are numerous places to eat oysters in New Orleans so we won't be back to Acme.

I decided to try this place decent reviews good history... I had the chargrilled oysters in town for the first and only time for even trying the char- oysters. The service was awful and the bartender ( Curtis) looked like he was high on something. Even the couples next to me thought this. You'd either wait forever to order or get something or were ignored I had to ask for silver ware, a napkin, water , he just was all over the place in another world... he was frustrating my end of the bar for sure. A place like this shouldn... read more

We visited today while we were in town, we were seated by the door and forgotten about for about 10 minutes. Then our waitress comes and says "have you been helped?" And proceeded to tell us that she shared the table we were at with another waitress. Then we ordered our food, 2 hamburgers, a turkey Po-boy and seafood gumbo with a side of fried crawfish and half dozen oysters (raw). We waited another 30 minutes for our food. The crawfish comes with a piece of bread at the bottom of the bowl to make the bowl look full, when r... read more

The gumbo looked like vomit... the catfish wasn't crispy... fries were cold. Waited an hour just to experience this. Terrible. Oh and the cooks were very displeasing to look at. Hide them PLEASE if you're going to hire people who don't look healthy. Looked like they came straight off the streets!

Not impressed at all with this place. We waited 20 mins in line outside to get a seat. Not a seafood eater so got the Boo Fries which were great tasting but cold. Also got a bowl of the chicken and andouille gumbo but the brought out the seafood gumbo instead. Got a mouthful of shrimp and almost barfed right then and there. After bringing the right bowl of gumbo out, I still was displeased with the flavor as it tasted like they through in half a bottle of liquid smoke. Hubby didn't mind it so I guess, to each is own. All in... read more
