We recently purchased a fairly new townhouse constructed by a quality builder in the Ashburn area. I have taken advantage of Angie's list to bring in various professionals to assess the current condition of the home and have had good results. I received a sales call from Adeliphia asking if I was interested in getting free estimates for home projects, as I had did business with them before. After some discussion and explanation, I agreed to free estimates for installing gutter guards and installation for my attic. The appointments were scheduled for the following week. Very disappointed as they have not reached out to us at all. So this survey is not about their work because we don't know how they performed. The company has never called to let us know when they were coming or to verify an appointment.

Bad first impression! No estimate or work done. Lack of professionalism. Customer service is a mess..Tried to contact them for a quote through their website, e-mail and phone and they never returned for an scheduled appointment. Looks like they are not interested in making businesses. Do not waste your time!

It didn't go. The vendor came, told me he didn't think I needed it and offered instead to send me a written summary and estimate via email. He did tell me their consultations are typically $50 and the balance would apply to any other service they would perform. I never received the follow up email or any other proposal, so I essentially paid $149 for $50 in service value. On 8/4/16, Robert came to my house and provided an estimate for 3 different options, including an option to spray on a radiant barrier on the under belly of the roof and exterior wall, and installing an attic tent. This appeared to be the best solution given my desire to continue using the attic for storage. Fine. I actually hired them and they did a good job at adding insulation. BUT I thought the initial appointment was a bit oversold on Angie's list. I thought I was paying for something more than a guy just coming and looking around. I thought they would do "an air flow analysis." Reality is I paid them to come look at my insulation levels and give me an estimate. Any company would have done this for free to get business.

ballpark pricing given at the time of estimate was higher than I had budgeted for. I mentioned as much at the time to begin the process of negotiating down to something more reasonable. at the end of the estimate visit I asked for a formal quote in writing and never received one. I reminded them about a week later, got an excuse and then still never received my formal quote. I ended up getting the same work done for about $2000 less at Fifth Element. I expected to get an independent and professional inspection and assessment of the roof on my home. Instead, it seems the "big deal" is little more than a bait and switch designed to get the homeowner to contract with them for a $11,000-$13,000 new roof. Had I wanted an estimate on getting a new roof, many companies would have done that for free. After two weeks, I did not get the inspection report I paid for, and only have a very suspect proposal to spend thousands of dollars to completely replace the roof. An honest and p... read more
