I am a huge fan of this vet. I have a 9 year old lab/terrier mix that we rescued as a puppy that is extremely shy around any human that isn't part of her "pack" and a couple that are! We took her to Alamo for a 2nd opinion when she injured her knee (torn miniscus). I just didn't feel comfortable with the 1st vet we went to (Banfield) - when we took Princess to see Dr. Lee, I was amazed - Princess did not shy away from her. Dr. Lee sat on the floor and Princess came right up to her and let herself be examined. Dr. Lee ga... read more
Great vets! Caring and compassionate. My animals have been well cared for here for 15 years! If $ is a consideration in your treatment of your pet children (it isn't for me, but I don't have human kids to pay for...) they are competitive with other vets in the area and have even helped and done follow ups at no charge. And if you are complaining about costs as one of these reviews does, remember the level of care you choose is indeed your choice...
Alamo Animal Hospital is fabulous. I have a 7 year old lab that has been going there for years and now I have a new lab puppy. Dr. Mangold is extremely thorough and great with both my dogs. The staff is very thoughtful. I have called quite a few times with the new puppy and they advised me what to do over the phone. They even answered my call on Saturday! They also call me after every shot to check up on both dogs the day after to see if they were doing well. I have never had that type of treatment at any other vet.... read more
I moved here from out of state and had somewhat of an emergency...I felt the staff genuinely tried to get my Joey the attention he needed and have him seen asap. The staff up front were funny and friendly and Dr. Barrett was wonderful. She explained everything, was very attentive and got me going on my way in no time. Thanks Dr. Barrett
I thought the entire staff at Alamo Animal Hospital was warm and friendly . They took the time to answer my questions, and I felt like the genuinely cared about my pet. I would definitely recommended them. Were they expensive, yes, but what vet isn't? They were right in line with what I've paid elsewhere.
I am a HUGE fan on Alamo Animal Hospital, and Dr. Mangold in particular. We adopted our kitty from the shelter in Martinez and were given information on several local options to take our kitty for her initial vet visit. We picked Alamo Animal Hospital and have been pleased every step of the way. Not only is the entire staff friendly and attentive, they have been able to get me in for an appointment on short notice several times. Dr. Mangold gives great advice and isn't hasty to treat something that may resolve itself with... read more
cheers My phone # is 805 234 4047 its all over my paperwork Don't know where you got the wrong # ? Fiori is a Military service dog and I have a disabled veteran status I am dismayed and shocked on the charge for blood work? $334.00 wow that is very excessive pricing especially for a Military service dog: Sorry that I took Kims recommendation and tried you for a vet exam: Would appreciate a refund on this pricing as its very not fair update reply Anthony Morrocco
Front desk was wonderful but had a negative experience with two of the vets so I pulled my dogs out of their care. They push medication on you and shame you if you don't want to feed your dog crappy processed kibble. If you question anything, they got very defensive and tried to demean me (and I was polite about it). Will not return and have a wonderful experience with a vet in Danville now.
We unfortunately recently had to put our 15 year old dog to sleep. We had discussed this with our regular vet in the area and got a quote for services and had plans to take her in that week but our dog deteriorated quickly one day and we decided we could not wait a day or two as she seemed to be in pain. They charged us close to $500 which was more than double what others charge in the area. I recognized it was a same day ask but to charge that type of fee for putting a dog to sleep is just outrageous, we won't use them agai... read more
