I reserved a table near the fireplace a few years back (we had out-of-town guests). The table was taken by an earlier group and they had finished dinner. The management (not the present one!) did not request them to yield the table. I was NOT impressed; it was an embarrassement for our guests. On this occasion, it was the opposite. Excellent food and service
We had our Christmas get-together for work and the staff, food, service and ambience could not be any better. They set us just behind the fireplace which made it even more festive. They made me my Effen Vodka Basil Martini that was not in their list and it was incredible. The food was scruptuous and our server was excellent, she deserved more than the 20% tip that was added on for groups, she got more from us. Their Oyster Alexander was to die for. Wonderful romantic dining experience. Nice to know there are still restaurants that cater to adults not wearing baseball caps and staring at cell phones. Going back for Christmas Eve.
Our waitress was so amazing! Food was delicious and well priced
I had a ceasar salad with old lettuce that wasn't dressed and a meager portion all for $10. The flounder entree of was mostly over creamed mashed potatoes within which the flounder was hard to find. We dined on Friday night and noticed many empty tables. Now I understand why. Since our previous two visits to Alexanders, the quality of the food has declined. This is an honest appraisal of my meal. I wish it was otherwise.
Alexander’s is the first place we visit after arriving on Hilton Head Island. Donna is our favorite and always makes excellent dinner and wine recommendations.
