We visit this restaurant once every year with other Canadian friends when we vacation in HHI....now under new management. Decor is lovely, our table for 6 was secluded but a bit tight for 2 of the bigger men dining with us. Servers were friendly and everyone enjoyed their meal. We prefer the early bird dining....and we were not disappointed.
Glad to see you reopen. Waited for entree after ordering for 45 minutes. Much too long. A little pricey compared to other comparable places on the island. Will come back but it will not be in our top five.
Alexander's has been closed since the hurricane in October. Since then they have made repairs, painted & changed ownership. They reopened to the public last night. Normally we wouldn't go to a restaurant on opening night but we will be leaving Hilton Head & wanted to try it before we left. We went with friends for the early dining menu offered from 5-5:45 PM. Was seated in the bar area where it seemed quiet. Bartender was the waitress. Service was bad and soon became very noisy with bartender even yelling menu to a group of people. Food was not good and service was bad and when complained to hostess. Her comment was she had to hide out in office because it was loud and busy.

Our meal started with very good bread and butter. We ordered the Wiener schnitzel and prime rib. The schnitzel was good, the same can’t be said of the prime rib. The cut of meat was quite thick; it was flavorless and hard to cut. The accompanying roasted potatoes were tasty. We noticed on the bill after we left we were charged $3 for ‘N/A beverage.’ Not a big charge, but why? We had tea and a water. Not sure we’ll be back.
