"After two years my Canon printer stopped working properly. The original 1-year product warranty had expired. I remembered that I purchased a Square Trade service contract so I called them. My call was answered immediately and the representative to whom I spoke was extremely helpful and easy to deal with. I told him I had used "off-brand" ink and he said this did not affect the Square Trade service agreement. He was able to make the determination on the phone that my contract would be honored.
