I am currently sitting with zero power in my home. I called Amerigas several days ago and I was told they would not fill my tank for 2 weeks as all their customers are on a strict schedule. I asked if there was an emergency delivery option, and I was told no. Today, I logged onto the website and learned that an emergency delivery is an option. Amerigas has the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I order a fill up on our 500 gallon tank in January of this year. Mind you, you have to oay up front, so $980. The day they delivered, the driver processes the service ticket before they filled the tank stating that the tank was being filled to 80% capacity. However the driver only filled the tank to 40% capacity stating in a hand written note on my delivery receipt that I needed a new tank, so they could only fill it half way. Billing with Amerigas US Gas; is not recording my tank filled values correctly, amerigas refuses to acknowledge their companies mistake, they over charged me due to the fill number[at that time], I will not choose the option 'fill all' anymore: only 200 gallons at a ********** some man just showed up to try to put a geo transmitter on my tank, several acres off of the road, he has no business being there, unless I tell the company that they are permitted: I use only 'call-in to fill requests' never, 'automatic fill'. This company is a scam and should be considered for serious legal repercussions. Average price for propane is 1.99 a gallon and they were charging me $3.70 a gallon. After that we started getting all kinds of crazy fees that we never got to start with like tank rental fees and fees for not using enough propane although our usage never changes. Morally this is one of the saddest story's and not just for me, but for the thousands of family's have been taken advantage of because this business is a necessity. Shame on you AmeriG... read more
WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!! I have never been treated so shabbily by a company. I placed my propane order on Sept 3 and was given a delivery window of Sept *****, but got a text message on September 4th that they would come the next day. No one showed up, so I called and was told my delivery was scheduled for between September *****. When no one showed by Friday, September 20, I called and was told they would submit it as an emergency and they would come within 24 hours. They did not come. In addition to having prices 40 to 50% ABOVE the going rate for any other supplier in the area, they charge twice the "rental" of tanks than competion. They also will not allow any other supplier to supply your propane, unless you own the tank - which they refuse to sell. There are state actions (not VA yet) against this company. They hold you hostage by not allowing other propane deliveries, not allowing you to buy the tank, and not allowing you to do anything but pay their incredibly high prices. This company misrepresents, lies, and does a great job of playing the shell game. We have been a customer of ********************** for ** years. We were referred to them by our contractor. Our only wish is that we could go back in time and change that decision. This company consistently charges at least $1 more per gallon for propane than any other company in our area. Called AmeriGas to report a leak on September 23, 2024 from the on/off valve on their tank that Ive been renting for over 10 years. After they fixed their tank, they told me they had to run more tests, then said that my cookstove had a leak and when everything was over with then told me that they were going to charge me a service call. They bought the company that used to service my house and then arbitrarily decided that they were going to charge customers a tank rental fee if they didn't use DOUBLE their tank capacity. It's a straight money grab from them. I order ******* gallons a year, but because I have a 500 gallon tank, they try to charge me an extra $200+ a year. I have NEVER had to pay a rental fee for using so many gallons before.
