Miserable experience - We haven't used Amerigas for over a year. After numerous phone calls, emails, photographs and documentation they continue to harass us for money we do not owe. We paid in full and tried to close our account a year ago. They picked up our tank with gas in it and never refunded the gas. They did not close our account and continue to charge us for service we do not receive. I am ready to hire a lawyer. I was in tears this morning on the phone. We used Amerigas because the previous owners of our home did as well.They fee you to death, and charge more than the average local rate - in my case double. They even charge TWO fee's to pick up a tank when you cancel! This should be criminal - if I weren't working class I'd take them to court - but alas our system isn't setup to protect those without money for lawyers.
If I could give negative stars I would. The customer service this ********************** provides is so atrocious and painful a root canal seems like a day at **********! Do not under any circumstances hire this company, they will send you to offshore support, transfer you over and over again, and no one will be able to help you until you call afterhours to get someone onshore. They merit a ZERO. They are the worst company that I've ever dealt with. I closed my account with them in January 2024. Still having issues in Sept 2024, and I finally paid them their ridiculous tank-removal fee of $300 (which I was disputing) just to finally get them out of my life. What a lot of stress they have caused over the last few years - poor delivery service, bad billing policy, etc. THEY ARE THE WORST!
Customer Service--REALLY!??! To date, I have now called SIX times to attempt to schedule adding another line to my, unfortunate, current service; HOWEVER, the first three times, I was unable to successfully communicate with the representative, due to a language barrier. I recently became the owner of a home with a buried propane tank and the previous owner had a deal with Amerigas (the tank is leased from them), so I have to use Amerigas. When I scheduled a delivery, I was not informed someone had to do a safety check first, and that they dont do deliveries on the same day as a safety check, so I took a day off work for nothing. Amerigas enticed me to switch to their service by offering a no charge pressure/system safety assurance test. After I agreed to switch and received propane fill up, I received a $319.99 bill for the safety assurance test. Ive spent combined hours on the phone with customer service and they refuse to remove the charge, saying that I was given false information. Stay clear of Amerigas!
Amerigas is the worst propane company. They charged us for an entire pressure regulator when they just provided a cap that the repair guys lost when checking our gas pressure. We tried repeatedly to get the charge reversed with no luck. We emailed them several times, sent two letters and actually went to the office, but they dont allow walk-ins post COVID. Very frustrating. How can you run a business this way?!?! We will never use Amerigas again.
