We did not choose Amerigas but instead purchased a home with a leased Amerigas propane tank to fuel a few appliances in the home such as water heater and emergency heat. We ran out of propane during a -10 degree winter storm and placed an emergency delivery, promised delivery within 24 hours. Prepaid for the delivery including leak check fee since the tank was $600. AmeriGas is a joke. 800 number will not help resolve your issue. They will not contact local offices for help. I have been out of propane for 5 days in freezing weather and no on can confirm delivery. If I want 24 hour service I have to pay $300 more dollars but still may not get delivery? This company is a joke and doesn’t even care about their customers. They need to be shut down or at the very least investigated because they are putting people’s lives at risk.
I have waited for three days now, and still no propane. The coldest weather of the year is upon us, and my house is 51 degrees and has no hot water. I was supposed to have gas by the end of today. What does that mean? Their office closes at 4:30 pm, and no one answers the phone all day. It is 5:30 pm now. I have three sick kids and some small pets. At least AmeriGas could answer their phones or call customers they can't get to in a day. My electric bill will be sky-high because of this situation due to so many space heaters.... read more
Worst company. I ordered first fill as the price was low. After a week they sent delivery but the driver realized at the last minute(literally before entering my drive way) that there need to be inspection to be done first before delivery and he cant do inspection so no delivery. I have been pushing them to expedite delivery but they dont care but introduce more delays. Their department coordination is really bad and no customer service. Still waiting on delivery. It is 4 days past their estimate. I can’t find a way to contact them anywhere unless I want to talk to someone in Asia. I am actually wondering now if I will even see it.
I orderd gas on 1/4 still not delivered tank is empty it is 28° and supposed to get colder. Awful
Worst customer service ive ever experienced. I have been told conflicting information. As a new customer I was told I would have to pay up front and would need to fill my entire tank. 1800.00. I did not have that amount at the time. To save gas I was using a small space heater in a bedroom. I got down to 7 %. I called and explained I only had 500.00. Worst company ever! They bought up all the small local propane companies and forced everyone to use them because their was no other choice. The terms and conditions contract you signed was with the local company you started with not theirs. Customer service is the worst. Prices are high. Billing is a nightmare. Dealing will them is a nightmare. And they hold the monopoly. Cannot believe what they are doing is legal.
I understand it is winter and AmeriGas is very busy, but this is unacceptable. I also understand that you need to save money and offshore your customer service call centers. Someone on your leadership team needs to take a serious look at your business model, more importantly your customer service model and communication. The kicker to all of this is that when this happened to us last year, I wanted to switch providers to Woodfin Oil.
