I got the Ancestry Pet DNA kit for my dog as a sign-up special through my Bark Box. We adopted a dog through the shelter, and while we knew she was some kind of poodle mix, we wanted to know what other breeds she might be to anticipate future health issues and needs. We highly suspected she was a mini bernedoodle, but it was nice to see it confirmed in her testing. The experience was very fast, and the results were pretty clear
You did a great job, telling me Sarah was a German Shepherd. I just thought Sarah had a little wolf in her because she is so different than the last German Shepherd I had. But I'm glad she is 100% mine.
Sebastian is a rescue. We knew he was part dachshund but his colouring and longer legs also suggested other breeds. Now we know his genetic make-up and a few other helpful things that will make it easier to negotiate his puppyhood. Thank you, Ancestry.
Fast response. Did good on keeping me informed. I'm not sure I agree with the results. It shows 42% American Pit Bull Terrier. I see that in her eyes, tail and short hair. 31% Boxer. I don't see any resemblance to a boxer. 27% Collie. I don't know if this is referring to a regular Collie or Border Collie. The ears maybe. I see more Border Collie in her. She is black with white markings. She has the slim build and the strong herding sense.
Quick, easy and accurate
I adopted a dog over a year ago and wanted to see if he really was a pure bread golden retriever. So I got the test and tried it out. It was very easy to do and send back. I loved how they informed me about each step they took with the test. The results were what I had hoped he would be 100% Golden Retriever. Couldn't be more excited about it.
Loved all the information provided and love that I know a little bit more about my dog.
