Well done! It was a surprise but also made sense!

We knew nothing about our dog’s breed except we were told she was Shih Tzu. I thought she was a mixed breed and I wanted to know her other ancestors. Delighted to find out she is mainly Shih Tzu with a little Lhasa Apso and Yorkie mixed in.

Interesting result, when I eventually received it....took longer than the expected timeframe.

From the time I submitted my dogs sample first the DNA test to results was fairly quick. I submitted it on the 9th of July and received periodic updates until the final results on the 30th of July. I was blown away on what the results showed. I had my dog's lineage completely wrong. I highly recommend Ancestry for all pet owners with unsure breeds.

Great experience! We knew Nellie was German Shepherd, and suspected she had some retriever because of the high level of energy. The big surprise was to find she had no Collie and 16% American Stafford Terrier. She looks like a Collie/Shepherd mix. We love her no matter what she is but it was helpful to know about the Labrador Retriever in her. So much fun!

The entire process was easy to do. Results came quicker than I thought. Only criticism I have is finding it difficult to print entire report. Other than that I am satisfied with the process.

everything was find; though we expected to find a different breed in the results.
