This place has never disappointed us. I've never been to Thailand. But I've eaten a lot of "Thai" food in the US. It all tastes the same. And then there's Anchalee's. From the radish cakes to the stalks of green peppercorns they use in their cooking, it transcends any other Thai place I've ever eaten in. It's like a completely different kind of food. Nothing is soupy or overcooked. Top notch Presentation, variety, and excellent service. Cute little place too. So glad it's survived the pandemic. Lots of vegan options too! ... read more

Every time I head to Berkeley to help my family's business I go here for Thai food. When I ask my bro what he wants to eat he always agrees with me to eat here. I've been here 3x and every time is better. I live in the valley. The Thai food there seems greasy now that I eat at Anchalee. The other day we ordered various things like basil squid, curry beef, mango salad, pad Thai with shrimp, and iced tea with thick coconut cream on top. Everything was just perfect. My taste buds were all over the place. The food here is so fr... read more

The food was very good. It was delicious and tasty and we'd come back for it. But the service leaves alot to be desired. We ordered appetizers and some of our group ordered soup and salads as their main entree. The appetizers came and were delicious. But then the salads and soups for half of the table were served. No one cleared the table of the appetizer plates, and immediately, it was clear that the main entries for the others weren't coming soon. So it was extremely awkward as half of the group had there food to ... read more
Business response:
Hi Tom, Thank you for the review and for the kind words about the food — we’re really happy to hear you enjoyed it! That means a lot to us. Sorry to hear the service didn’t measure up, though. It sounds like things got disorganized and not professionally done and we totally get how awkward that must’ve been. That’s not the experience we want anyone to have here, and we’ll definitely be chatting with the staff to make sure this kind of thing doesn’t happen again. We’d love a chance to make it right, so if you’re up for giv... read more
So Thai food is built around 5 tastes. Unfortunately omelet one dish came even close; the mango salad had all but the bitter. Colorful, light, complex. Delicious. The same could not be said for the very brown and one note pad si ew and basil pork, the latter so salty almost inedible. We will try again as the mango salad was promising but will avoid two of our favorite dishes.

I usually don't do reviews but: Today I ordered ginger chicken and pineapple fried rice with pork for delivery. I received the rice dish with chicken instead, but well that was okay. The problem was the dishes were bland and not very tasty. There was no hot, spice on Thai food which I found strange. The chicken was unbelievably dry. There was a lime in the fried rice that had already been squeezed to nothing. The rice had a strange texture. Probably the worst Thai food I've had anywhere.
