If you are looking for a pleasant place to bring your children, do not choose this one. This review is about whomever the man was behind the desk, answering the phone this afternoon, March 30th, 2018 at 4:23pm. The only reason for my rating is the accounting team for this office. I was being hit with charges for visits that happened over six months before I received the bill, and once I inquired I realized that they had not yet reached out to my insurance company. This was irritating. What made it worse was that the person that I spoke with was always irritable and cranky right off the bat so was of very little assistance. I believe his name was Andrew. While Dr. Curley is nice, the service and staff at Phoenix Pediatrics is the WORST I have come across in years, and I will never send my kids here again. This office has lost one consent form after another, and the office manager, Julene, was the worst of everyone when I brought this to her attention. How does a pediatrician's office lose a parental consent form that has been provided 3-4x in the past? I wish I could have given 0 stars.

So far I am unimpressed. I wanted to switch pediatricians after having a bad experience at another practice. When I called to make an appointment it took 15 minutes for someone to answer the phone, by which time by newborn was crying so I had to call back. Another 10 minutes before someone answered and I could schedule. Then they told me to call the other practice to have them fax over the records. We have been going to Phoenix Pediatrics for all of my 14 year old child's life without any issues at the Desert Ridge office (Union Hills) location since they have been there, previously by Abrazo Scottsdale Campus Hospital (Paradise Valley Hospital). However I had another child 15 months ago and have had nothing but issues with the billing and office staff since. I used this facility for many years and everything was fine up until a few days ago. I do not have insurance and I needed to have my son seen for an injured shoulder. I have never had a problem getting my kids in for a limited evaluation but all of the sudden, since they had not seen my son in 2 years, I had to get a whole wellness check up. When I first called, the gentleman I spoke with told me "no problem, we can take a look at his shoulder. It'll be $52.00". Awesome!! After waiting for about 1 hours to be seen and with a sick kid I just inquired how long it was going to take only to hear back that I "better calm down and be patient". I wasn't being rude nor anything, just asked (unhappy, of course) how long more it was going to take since I had been sitting for an hour. I replied that "I don't feel I need to come down and instead I would appreciate an answer otherwise I will just go somewhere else", to which I heard "that's enough, I need you to leave". What? Not professional establishment at all, particularly the union hills office. I had to get my kids forms signed and they made it so difficult to get. Making me wait for 1plus hour and repeatedly telling me to come back later when they could have spent that time to get the job done. Later I got a letter stating that they cannot provide services as " your expectation far exceed what we are reasonably able to provide". So I want to say that our experience with doctor was amazing. He worked us in on a holiday weekend when my daughter was three days old and having an issue. The hospital wouldn't release us without the appointment, so I was very grateful. Our problem has been with the billing. Our appointment was on a Saturday of New Year's weekend. I had both my insurance card and ID, but was told I had to pay for the visit up front because they "couldn't confirm the coverage."
