While the people at the office are curious and kind. And go out of the way to accommodate you, I do have some issues with their product. A few years ago I purchased an upper denture from Aspen. I have no complaints about the service, however in the first 3 months I lost two teeth from the denture and they had to be replaced. Despite the fact that I was in pain, they did not provide me with a painkiller nor did they even provide me with other powerful toothpaste. Very sad and frustrating. I understand that in these times, that they would not provide everyone they meet with an opiate painkiller (abuse it high and such prescriptions need to be kept down), but, honestly, I had an impacted tooth, and, plus, I am in pain now, so I don't know why they didn't give me one. Every time I come I am charged more than I was told it would cost! I have upper dentures and quite a while ago I noted that as they only have to clean my lower teeth I am charged for a full mouth; I questioned this and was told they would only charge the kid rate of $45. I remind them every time and pay my bill, then get a bill in the mail for more!
The professional (dental) personal were semi-competent and provided relatively good service. That being said the people scheduling the appointments really need to get it together. I've shown up at the office on at least three occasions only to be told my appointment was not on the book, even though I had an appointment card with the date and time written on them. I have been a patient at this aspen dental for almost 10 years. Unfortunately, they have been giving me the run around to get a cleaning. I called and spoke with the not-so-lovely front desk lady, Tammy. We were talking on the phone and she said I needed a xray. I replied that I do not want a xray and just a cleaning. Aspen Dental in Augusta seems to be very understaffed. With only one Dentist iI can see why he can only spend 6 minutes with each patient. I was rushed through so fast I couldn't believe it. Looks like the staff is over worked as they all seem to just go through the motions and really lack customer service.
Friendly staff but they were very busy that day so it took a while to get in. I wasn't happy with the idea that I couldn't decide whether or not I wanted x-rays. Evidently it is company policy. You have to have them once a year. I may not go back due to this. I don't have dental insurance so have to pay out of pocket for them.
I have never been to a dentist that I had to make two appointments to get my teeth cleaned. I waited almost an hour and then wasn't able to be with my child for her cleaning. My appointment was an hour before hers and ended up being pretty much the same time. I will go back they were friendly, I just wasn't understanding what my hold up was. I saw others go back and I was still waiting.
