This place has gone downhill. When we first moved to Columbia a few years ago, we had good experience with Aspen Dental, though I thought their fees were a bit high. They make you pay before ever giving any service or treatment. Last year, they sent an extra bill after I left for a service that was not provided. After two phone calls that fee was removed. They overcharge and create more problems. i was told I needed a crown. They had more than two people doing the procedure because they were so overbooked and understaffed that two Dr's came in to start and then finsh the process and place the temporary. In doing the prep they damaged the tooth in front and behind tooth 19 and improperly prepped the crown so that it did not properly seal and caused it to come off 3 times in less than a year. i would not have known any of this but recently my shotty dentistry was an issue again... read more

They cancelled my appt after I had already paid because supposedly I didn’t confirm. But there was no mention of this when I made the appt. I also requested a refund and still have not received it. I notice my first review is missing. Very bad customer service to cancel the appt without telling me. I do not drive and had to get a ride.

What are some ways Aspen dental can improve? I literally laughed at that one, but since you ask here goes. Around March I went to Aspen dental for some long overdue dental work. Now I admit that I was less than enthusiastic about caring for my dental health earlier in life. I had a lot of chipped, and broken teeth that would either need to be crowned, or removed. My experience was fairly decent until my last filling appointment. When I went in for my last 3 fillings, it was a different dentist. Had I know. This ahead of time, I would have rescheduled. The dentist had a very aggressive personality and cursed several times about things during my fillings. Aspen Dental made an appointment with a 91 year old patient to check on dentures Aspen made that fit so poorly they were cutting into her gums. After the patient showed up on time, Aspen kept her waiting for an hour and then sent her away saying they could not see her for another 6 days. All the travel and time and energy wasted not to mention continued suffering by the patient! I am appalled.
