I arrived 20 minutes early to my first appointment to fill out forms. Turned in completed forms 5 minutes before scheduled appointment time. 35 after minutes after the scheduled appointment time and after 2 people who came in after me had been taken back, I knew it was time to leave. The receptionist that day was surly and borderline rude in her conversations with those who called during my wait in the waiting room. I am glad I left.

I went in for a tooth extraction... the worst experience in my life! I’ve had teeth removed before and this was the worst by far! Dr. Thelen doesn’t know how to administer Novacaine, she never hit the nerve, all the Novacaine was squinting in my mouth, no dental assist in the room to assist so I swallow a lot of novaciane. In the beginning the customer service was good but today it was not. My appointment was originally for 845 am they rescheduled it for 2pm. I arrive at 2pm the receptionist tells me they cancelled my appointment because I did not confirm. When I said you people are the one who called me to change it so why did I need to confirm her next words were the dentist had an emergency. I had a rushed appointment because I was in pain, which took a week to get. The Dentist told me I needed a root canal, and I was told it would be almost $600. I could tell she was really pushing the Root Canal, which I get, they always want to save the tooth if they can. I can't afford $600 up front, so I asked how much to just pull it... they came back with an estimate of over $2,000. I was just sent on my way with no other options to pay or to make payments... I guess I will just wait for it to fall out of my head!!!

Everyone was very pleasant from the second I walked through the door...that's where the 2 stars come from. Initially, they tried to convince me to go through with procedures that I wasn't interested in, however, they agreed to give me a few different options/treatment plans. I expected them to be a bit more expensive than one of their competitors but, it was worth it to me because this location is about 10 miles from me while their competitor is over an hour away. We went to the Miller Rd Flint Mi location. This was my sons first "on his own medical" appointment. So we went to the visit after verifying they took his insurance. After being examined a receptionist called us behind the counter. She explained he had gingivitis and required special cleaning and products and his insurance wouldn't cover it. It was 235.00. Aspen Dental in Flint Mi. on Miller Road is the worse place I ever been to. They lie do not back up any warranty that is on paper. After my first visit to get new upper dentures, they had them done in about 2 weeks and in one week the two front teeth broke out of denture. Had them fixed and within one month they broke out in front again. Now its been 4 months and the front teeth broke out again. That was it trying to get my money back, That is not going to happen.
