Great interaction & educational experience for all ages, well worth the fee. Staff was professional, friendly & helpful explaining to families membership may be less expensive. Our afternoon visit lasted bit over a hour, with no rush to leave.Aquariums Bathrooms & animals, in sight were clean & being cleaned in our presence. Washing stations were available every few feet. The least disappointing, one of the better smelling & most comfortable stops in Austin FOR ME ‼

First and last visit here. All of the tanks and water looked cloudy and dirty. People can just stick their hands in the tanks to touch and feed the animals with no supervision. As mentioned in other reviews there is no natural sunlight coming into the building for the animals. A giant tortoise was roaming around and I did not feel comfortable with my 1 1/2 year old son walking around with that going on. Seriously bad experience and I hope this place gets inspected and closed down.

They do not have adequate care or space for these animals. It is not appropriate for these animals to be held like this.

Biggest waste of money! We came on vacation thinking it'd be like a real aquarium... it's not! My 2 year old was not even amused. The animals looked sick or sad. It's way over priced, there were 3 of us and we got 6 tokens and it was $101... it was awful. I'm mad. I want a refund! We went through the whole thing twice and weren't even there an hour. The staff was really nice, it's not they're fault but the visitors and animals deserve better!!! Don't waste your time and money!

This aquarium treats these animal horribly!! They are inside all day long, in small cages and pet by humans constantly. If you care about animals at all, then this place is NOT for you. It would be better to see the animals in their natural habitat or something close to it so that kids could actually have an appreciation for animals and what their needs are. This place is horrendous and should be shut down immediately. I am not a crazy PETA person but if you do a simple Google search on the family that owns this aquarium, yo... read more

I really should have dug deeper when I was looking for places to visit in Austin. I was fooled by the high star rating, and also the assumption that a place like this wouldn't be allowed to operate. I should have used common sense. First things first, there's plenty of parking and the staff is nice. It's located in a strip mall, which gave us the first clue that it was too small for the price, let alone the animals. When we entered we noticed the horrible smell. You expect some feral smells with animal exhibits, but this was... read more

My four year old autistic son had the best day visiting the aquarium for the first time. Overall it seems spaced out well and we spent a couple of hours there and could have spent more time. We will be back for another visit!

Took my special needs son and sister to the Austin Aquarium on a Thursday at 10am. Paid $80 for 3 adult tickets. I first noticed the place had an awful smell. We were suddenly bombarded by two huge school buses of children. Even though we were there first, and we were accompanying a wheelchair, they took priority and we had to wait. We should have been allowed to enter first and given time to get ahead of the school bus kids. There were so many kids (approximately 40+kids),and they were so loud and somewhat uncontrolled. We ... read more

We went to the San Antonio Aquarium and today we went to the Austin Aquarium. Please do not go to either one of these aquariums. The animals look used, and depressed. I am still sad about the small living enclosures that the animals are kept in and they all look depressed and odd. Staring at walls with bald spots . It was the most depressing aquariums. I came home and researched to see who own them and why would the city of Austin mistreat its animals. This is a for profit company owned by name Covino. Google this place. Ple... read more
