Very kid friendly! There's also a kid space where they have games on the floor for the littlest to enjoy. My daughter loved it. Snack bar was closed due to short staff when we went but more to enjoy! One of the workers was super nice, peoples tokens got stuck in the feeding machine and he refunded everyone with more than enough!
Dark, dirty and depressing. They should change the name to "Austin's strip mall aquarium. We came with our toddler who was at times similarly nonplussed. Compared to aquariums in other cities, the "Austin Aquarium" is a disappointment. It's honestly a shame that they managed to get Austin's namesake without representing our fine city. Marcus was the first face i seen when i walked through the door. His customer service was excellent. Made my first impression of this place 5 stars automatically. Thank you so much for being part of making my daughters birthday such an exciting experience. Your awesome!!!
The only reason I'm giving one star is because of how nice Ryan was, the other staff was not welcoming and not attentive. The poor tortoise was harassed walking around. Kids were running wild and hands were placed in and on everything possible. I should have done a google search before coming.

It is very fun for little kids but for older kids and adults it is very boring. The animals do not seems to be treated properly.
Abuses the animals and has absolutely horrible habitats for all the animals. What are they thinking having monkeys in small rooms???? Absolutely disgusting the cleanliness was disgusting. The birds poop everywhere, the lizards bite, and the shop is way too expensive.
Second time in this aquarium and I don't remember it being SO SMALL! We walked through it relatively quickly (approximately 30 minutes) and thankfully, we are members of the SA aquarium so we didn't pay, but I'm not too sure if the price of this place justifies the experience. The front staff was great and accommodating, but the aquarium itself does need work & more exhibits.
I always love visiting this aquarium and every visit has been a very special experience for me. The staff are very welcoming when you first enter and the environment inside is always clean and top notch. It is expected that it will always smell like wildlife in the building but they always have passionate workers that make sure they clean and provide the care for all the animals around the clock.
